Did you know, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau:
- "Memorial Day honors over one million American men and women who have died in military service since the Civil War."
Therefore, let"s make sure to stop and take time this holiday weekend to pay tribute to all the brave military veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country — and for us all.
Let’s remember the historic significance of this revered national holiday, rather than simply focusing on family roadtrips or superficial sales at the local mall and car dealerships.
Let’s remember on Memorial Day, and every day, that the U.S. Armed Forces are an honorable institution for which we owe a huge debt of gratitude — especially to those who fought and died for America.
So many brave military men and women throughout history not only served America with honor and distinction, but also paid the ultimate price for it.
This is a time to remember and commemorate their tireless and selfless patriotic service.
This is a time to thank America"s fallen heroes for protecting and defending this great Nation and our democratic way of life.
