Greatest Generation is going to have to be the greatest, again!

If you understand what happened in the 2008 and 2012 Presidential elections, and the 2010 mid-term elections, then you have to understand that the mid-term elections in 2014 are going to be pivotal.  The group of Americans known as the Greatest Generation were unfortunately persuaded to "sit out" and not vote for Romney.  Unless that dynamic changes and the Greatest Generation stands up again, Conservative candidates will never win elections of consequence EVER again.


The typical U.S. household is headed by a person age 65 or older and that person has a net worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35, according to an analysis of census data released Monday.   If all of the “Greatest Generation” have all  of the money, then how about you all stand together again and help us try to elect someone who might be near honest and not be after the destruction of our Republic.


In the age of Division Politics (war against women, reverse discrimination, politics of incrimination) you can read in the lame stream media that they like to refer to this demographic as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs.  Some of them are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire.  Others have been retired for some  time.  They walk a little slower these days and their eyes and hearing are not what they once were.  They have worked hard, raised their children, worshiped their God and grown old together.  Yes, they are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true.  But before writing them off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.


 In school they studied English, history, math, and science which enabled them to lead America into the technological age.  Most of them remember what outhouses were, many of them with firsthand experience.


They remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to their homes.  For those of you who don"t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators.  A few even remember when cars were started with a crank.  Yes, they lived those days.


They are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many.  But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing them off.  They won World War II, fought  in Korea and Viet Nam.  They can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and they know  where to place their hand while doing so.  They wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield.  They didn"t fight for the Socialist States of America; they fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave."


They wore different uniforms but carried the same flag.  They know the words to the Star Spangled Banner,  America,  and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even seen some tears running down their cheeks as they sang.  They have lived what many of you have only read in history books and they feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for  America.


Yes, they are old and slow these days but rest assured, they have at least one good fight left in them.  They have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now they are going to have to save it, one more time.  It is their country  and nobody is going to take it away from them.  They took oaths to defend  America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath they plan  to keep.  There are those who want to destroy this land we all love but,  like our founders, there is no way they are going to remain silent.


It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the  Democratic Congress.  You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality  was nothing but "Hype and Lies."


You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don"t like it after all.  You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the  Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting.  Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having  buyer"s remorse.  With all the education the Greatest Generation gave you, you didn"t have sense  enough to see through the lies and instead drank the "Kool-Aid."  Now  you"re paying the price and complaining about it.  No jobs, lost mortgages,  higher taxes, and less freedom.


This is what you voted for and this is what you got.  The Greatest Generation entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.


Well, don"t worry youngsters, the Greatest Generation is here to be great once again, and in 2014 they are going to take back our nation.  They may drive a little slower than you would like but they get where they"re going, and in 2014 they"re going to the polls by the millions.


This land  does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi  and Harry Reid.  It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom.  I can only imagine that the Greatest Generation hopes this time you will do a better  job of preserving it and passing it along to their grandchildren.  So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Greatest Generation."

Erika Ritz authored a piece on TheBlaze.com titled "MLK’S NIECE WEIGHS IN ON ‘WHAT’S WRONG WITH AMERICA’"


Alveda King, the niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke Tuesday about how the lessons she learned growing up in her family can apply to all Americans.


She discussed a modified “ten commandments” in particular, which said anyone who marched with her uncle had to pledge to abide by.


“We had to agree to be non-violent, to read our Bibles daily, to love each other…” she recalled, speaking with Glenn Beck on TheBlaze TV.  “To love, to obey, to honor first God, and then each other and those we needed to serve.”


I"m trying to be careful what I say in social media, because it seems like no matter what, we live in a hypersensitive society where people are just looking for any reason to be offended. I"m working on a project to identify a series of "Issues" where Americans can unite. Any suggestions you have where you think we should be united regardless of Party affiliation? Is there a Capital Mall gathering place where we can all agree on certain foundational issues?

Washington Post Discovers The Actual United States Star Chamber

Social Media SuperPAC Civil Rights


It seems almost beyond imagination that it has been 20 years since the movie "Star Chamber" came out, starring at that time a relatively young Michael Douglas.  This movie does a masterful job and stretches your thinking from the very opening. Michael Douglas portrays an idealistic L.A. County superior court judge who finds himself in a cabal of judges known as THE STAR CHAMBER, in this 1983 film of the same name directed and co-written by Peter Hyams (OUTLAND; CAPRICORN ONE; 2010). His character is frustrated about letting criminals go scot-free on charges ranging from kidnapping to murder because of technicalities; even though the evidence would clearly put these thugs on ice, improper procedures by the police force Douglas to obey the letter of the law and dismiss them.


But he gets a look into this Star Chamber cabal from his mentor (Hal Holbrook, good as ever), where he and seven other judges, plus Douglas now, pass judgment on and later find and execute the criminals. In essence, this Star Chamber consists of judges so fed up with the System that they resort to vigilantism. Douglas, however, doesn"t see this particular cabal as the answer, and he has to struggle with this dichotomy.


This movie is among my all time favorite political thrillers, right along with the following;

"All The President"s Men", In the Watergate Building, lights go on and four burglars are caught in the act. That night triggered revelations that drive a U.S. President from office. Washington reporters Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) and Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) grabbed the story and stayed with it through doubts, denials and discouragement. All the President"s Men is their story. Directed by Alan J. Pakula and based on the Woodward/Bernstein book, the film won four 1976 Academy Awards (Best Supporting Actor/Jason Robards, Adaptation Screenplay/William Goldman, Art Direction and Sound). It also explores a working newspaper, where the mission is to get the story and get it right.

"Sneakers" 


In 1969, students Martin Brice and Cosmo are hacking into computer networks using university equipment, to redistribute conservative funds to various liberal causes. The police burst in and arrest Cosmo while Martin is out getting pizza, and Martin goes on the run.


In the present day, Martin, now called Martin Bishop, is running a tiger team of security specialists in San Francisco, including Donald Crease, a former CIA officer and family man; Darren "Mother" Roskow, aconspiracy theorist and electronics technician; Carl Arbogast, a young genius; and Irwin "Whistler" Emery, a blind phone phreak.


Martin is approached by two National Security Agency officers, Dick Gordon and Buddy Wallace, who know of his former identity. In exchange for clearing his record, he"s asked to recover a "black box" from mathematician Dr. Gunter Janek, who has developed the box under the project name "Setec Astronomy" supposedly for the Russian government. Martin is hesitant but agrees to help. With help from his former girlfriend, Liz, Martin and his team secure the box which is disguised as a telephone answering machine. During their ensuing celebration party, Whistler, Mother, and Carl start to investigate the box, finding it capable of breaking the encryption of nearly every computer system. Martin works out that "Setec Astronomy" is an anagram of "too many secrets".

"Red Dawn" In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerrilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

And then there"s Will Smith"s epic "Enemy of the State".  Enemy of the State is a 1998 American action-thriller about a group of rogue NSA agents who kill a US Congressman and try to cover up the murder.


Star Chamber, as most of all the above movies, have all but been forgotten about, that was until yesterday when the Washington Post disclosed details about the reality of a Secret Surveillance Court.  In the wake of the NSA Scandal, the Washington Post now talks openly about the Foreign Intelligence Security Court and "Wedged into a secure, windowless basement room deep below the Capitol Visitors Center, U.S. District Court Judge John Bates appeared before dozens of senators earlier this month for a highly unusual, top-secret briefing."  Bates, "reluctantly agreed to appear at the behest of Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who arranged the session after new disclosures that the court had granted the government broad access to millions of Americans’telephone and Internet communications.


The two-hour meeting on June 13 featuring Bates and two top spy agency officials — prompted by reports days earlier by The Washington Post and Britain’s Guardian newspaper about the vast reach of the programs — reflects a new and uncomfortable reality for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and its previously obscure members."


The good news where all our interests are aligned (this isn"t a left or right issue, this isn"t about Democrat or Republican) is, "Members of Congress from both parties are pursuing legislation to force the court’s orders into the open and have stepped up demands that the Obama administration release at least summaries of the court’s opinions."


"Walton, who took over as chief earlier this year, issued an order last month demanding that the Obama administration respond to a request from a civil liberties group, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, for the release of a classified ruling in which the court found that the government had engaged in unconstitutional surveillance of Americans. The court has even taken the rare step over the past two weeks of creating a public docket Web page featuring the Electronic Frontier Foundation case as well as a separate, new motion brought by theAmerican Civil Liberties Union seeking records of the phone surveillance program."


CIVIL RIGHTS 101 FROM MY PERSPECTIVE:
"It is a fair summary of constitutional history that the landmarks of our liberties have often been forged in cases involving not very nice people." -Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter.


Protection of civil liberties and civil rights is perhaps the most fundamental political value in American society. That is what I believe will UNITE us all in the future (sooner than many of you might believe given the speed at which all of our Civil Rights are being violated) and why I believe the Founding Fathers codified them in the Bill of Rights. And yet, as former Justice Frankfurter explained in the quote above, the people who test liberties and rights in our courts are not always ideal citizens.


What is the difference between a liberty and a right? Both words appear in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. The distinction between the two has always been blurred, and today the concepts are often used interchangeably, especially when words and definitions are so easily changed to suit political agendas. However, they do refer to different kinds of guaranteed protections for ALL OF US. Again, this is not left or right, Republican or Democratic, so this is something about which all of us should be able to come together and agree around the importance of protecting Civil Rights. If I lose my Civil Right to profess my Christian faith, are you then ready to lose your Civil Right to profess your belief in same sex marriage?


Civil liberties are protections AGAINST government actions. For example, the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights guarantees citizens the right to practice whatever religion they please. Government, then, cannot interfere in an individual"s freedom of worship. Amendment I gives the individual "liberty" from the actions of the government to prevent ANYONE from practicing ANY religion, whether I vehemently disagree with them or not, like the Westboro Baptist Church. Regardless of whether I personally find their ideology reprehensible, I have to agree to defend their right to practice their religion (within the law) and I expect the same liberty in reverse.


Civil rights, in contrast, refer to positive actions of government should TAKE to create EQUAL conditions for ALL Americans. The term "civil rights" is often mistakenly associated with the protection of minority groups, such as African Americans, Hispanics, and women, but the language of equality for all is an important condition. The government counterbalances the "majority rule" tendency in a democracy that often finds minorities outvoted.


The overwhelming majority of court decisions that define American civil liberties are based on the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments added to the Constitution in 1791. Civil liberties protected in the Bill of Rights may be divided into two broad areas: freedoms and rights guaranteed in the First Amendment (religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition) and liberties and rights associated with crime and due process. Civil rights are also protected by the Fourteenth Amendment, which protects violation of rights and liberties by the state governments.


Protection of civil liberties and civil rights is basic to American political values, but the process is far from easy. Protecting one person"s right can potentially involve violating those of another. How far should the government go to take "positive action" to protect minorities? The answers often come from individuals who brush most closely with the law, whose cases help to continually redefine American civil liberties and rights.


For most hard working Americans, we"ve been out there focused on our job, building our businesses, raising our kids, being involved in our communities and generally believing that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were safe and secure. We are waking up to a very different reality, and this is what unites us towards a common cause. Some of us this awakening came long ago, some within just the past few weeks because of the myriad scandals and revelations about things which just months ago were unthinkable and rejected as conspiracy theory. 


Again, this isn"t a Party issue because Former National Security Agency analyst Russ Tice, a Bush-era whistle-blower, recently made startling claims that the federal government’s wiretap endeavors targeted high-ranking government officials, including military officials, lawmakers and diplomats including President Obama.


What I find most interesting right now is the somewhat parallel legal claims being pursued by the Electronic Frontier Foundation and their request for the release of a classified ruling in which the court found that the government had engaged in unconstitutional surveillance of Americans and the ACLU who filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the U.S. government surveillance program that collects the telephone records of millions of Americans from U.S. telecommunications companies.


Do you believe your Civil Rights are being violated by the government surveilling your personal phone records, emails or any other communication without any connection or claim of involvement with a terrorist organization or any wrongdoing whatsoever? If you believe your personal Civil Rights have been violated by the actions of the government, what action are you willing and capable of doing to obtain your 1st Amendment Right to Petition the Government for Redress of Grievances?


Chief Justice Roberts himself signaled some discomfort with the system during his 2005 confirmation hearings.


“I’ll be very candid,” he told senators. “When I first learned about the FISA court, I was surprised. It’s not what we usually think of when we think of a court. We think of a place where we can go, we can watch, the lawyers argue, and it’s subject to the glare of publicity. And the judges explain their decision to the public and they can examine them. That’s what we think of as a court.”

Let’s remember the historic significance of this revered national holiday, rather than simply focusing on family roadtrips or superficial sales at the local mall and car dealerships.


Let’s remember on Memorial Day, and every day, that the U.S. Armed Forces are an honorable institution for which we owe a huge debt of gratitude — especially to those who fought and died for America.


 



So many brave military men and women throughout history not only served America with honor and distinction, but also paid the ultimate price for it.


This is a time to remember and commemorate their tireless and selfless patriotic service.


This is a time to thank America"s fallen heroes for protecting and defending this great Nation and our democratic way of life.

Memorial Day Tribute - Thank You To All Who Serve(d)

So many brave military men and women throughout history not only served America with honor and distinction, but also paid the ultimate price for it.


This is a time to remember and commemorate their tireless and selfless patriotic service.


This is a time to thank America"s fallen heroes for protecting and defending this great Nation and our democratic way of life.

My Daily Thanks...Top 10 Things For Which I Am Thankful!!!


1. My relationship with God…
I am so grateful for the honor I have of knowing God the Father…God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I am grateful that His plan has never changed from Gen.1:28 to bless me, make me fruitful, empower me to multiply, anoint me to be generous, make me more than a conqueror and ultimately, rule and reign with Him for His kingdom come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
2. My relationship with Lisa…
I woke up this morning laying next to one of the greatest gifts God has given me in this part of my journey. I am blessed beyond measure to have Lisa for my wife, lover and friend!
3. My relationship with my children…
The love I have for Kamden, Kjersti and now Keaton and McKenna is indescribable and yet a picture of how much I know God loves me.  The greatest honor on this side of eternity is that God entrusted me to be their Dad! I am grateful for the privilege! 
4. My Mom…
I would not be who I am today without the Godly influence of my mother. She is my hero!  She prayed and loved me back to life after losing Patti. She is the person who has loved me most next to God. I honor her today and everyday by being thankful she's my Mom.
5. My Big Sis…
I appreciate my sister and brother-in-law as role models, always being there for me and my family and working hard to live their lives in a way that is honoring to God and an example for their kids. I appreciate the fact that they are raising their kids involved in church, living for them the Gospel and making kingdom a priority in their home. The greatest thing parents can do for their children is love each other and be faithful to the house of God. Thank you Kaar and Les!
6. Godly alignments along the way…
I could not mention one person here, so I will mention a few (not comprehensive and apologies in advance for any I've forgotten). No one gets where they are by themselves and the following are the short list of people who have impacted my life through my being aligned with them in different seasons of my life, for divine reasons. Wilbur Alexander, Danny Mathews, Brent Dupper, Geoff Brummett, Bob Chinnock, Rob Rasco, Mark Everts, Jethro Smith, David Calzaretta, Jim Maddux, Larry Taylor, Steve Timmerman, Larry Yarchever, James Hawkins, Mike Corso, Bob Bornhoft, Mike Carlisle, John Salyer, Mike Dobbins, Dave Simonson, Steve Buehler, Dave Thorpe, Gary Martin, Rob Lamorte, Haswell Beni, Tom Waller, Ken Murray and Patrick Manning. There are many more who are in my Hall of Fame and will be on my Wall of Honor!
7. My best friend and surfing buddy, Mark Mealy…
As iron sharpens iron, Mark has always believed in me, honored me, surfed with me and loved me even when my worst has been displayed, stood by me and helped me through some of the toughest challenges I've faced. Having been through his own Job experience of losing a daughter, Mark has been a steadfast friend always challenging me in my walk! We truly have a Jonathan/David covenant relationship and I know he's got my back.
8. My "Job" Experience…
The Bible story of Job has a personal relevancy to me, although I'm not alone in feeling like I've been particularly challenged.  Through all my challenges I am thankful that I've never questioned God's sovereignty.  Believe me, I've questioned a LOT in terms of circumstances and events, but have come to resolution that faith is the only thing that will get me through questions which just won't be answered this side of eternity.  I am thankful that my Lord and Creator has included me in His Kingdom and that I have been honed for a purpose.
9. The privilege of using my skills for His purposes…
I am thankful that I have the privilege of using the skills, experience and gifts God has given me to impact lives...both as a mentor for those who are coming up behind me, as well as for businesses with whom I am blessed to help market.
10. Divine Favor…
I am grateful for the Favor of God that is on my life! I am reminded everyday that Favor is a divine gift. Everything I do is not about me, but about Him and yet He lets me enjoy it! I am thankful for the Favor that I do not deserve. Thank You God!!!!

My Thoughts for the New Year


This time of year, a lot of people look back over the past twelve months and evaluate some of the big moments of their life. Where did things go wrong? Where did things go right? What could I have done better? What were some of the unexpected surprises along the way? I could spend some time with you today looking back at 2012 - it was an incredibly eventful year with some bitter disappointments - but I don’t feel like looking back today. On this New Years Day, I want to look forward to the future.

In 2013, all of us are going to have some interesting decisions to make.  I believe each one of us is going to have to make a commitment to stand up for our principles and values.  You and I both know the  problems we're facing aren't going to be solved in Washington D.C., but in individual homes across the country.  It is my responsibility to be prepared for what is coming in the next few years, especially given the data I'm being presented with on a daily basis.

And do you want to know the good news? I’m an optimist. I know the American people still have the resolve, the grit, and the willingness to make the hard choices to get through the tough times that are headed our way. Sure the progressives are clearly in political control, but it’s going to be the people who value freedom and liberty that will be the light in the darkness.

In 1776, Thomas Paine wrote:

THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.

These are the times that try men’s souls, and putting America back on the path of freedom may not be easy - but“the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

So in 2013, what do I need to do?  Your focus may be different, so I'm only sharing this to give you some perspective about where I'm focusing my energy.

First, I have made a commitment. It’s going to be harder than ever to stand for liberty, freedom and small government in 2013. I am prepared to stand up and stand firm for the things that I know to be true.

Second, I have already aligned myself with like-minded people who really believe in the principles of freedom. If you look to the Constitution as a guide, you’re likely to find some allies like I have. Why can I sit down with an atheist and find common ground? Because we both believe in the same basic principles of freedom and liberty that were part of this country's founding. I guarantee you, there are more people in this country who want small government and personal responsibility than those who don’t - you just need to seek them out and find that common ground. 

Third, I believe we need to take back the culture. It appears to me that conservatives have all but given up on culture. I've been working with my company on some exciting new plans for next year and beyond that will see us injecting socially redeeming content back into the cultural sphere.  I am committed to working with companies who are committed to those cultural goals that will impact lives, so I'm dedicated to find those companies and help them make massive marketing moves in the coming years. But I can’t do this alone. If you’re a creator or an artist, you need to be out there creating your art, filming your movie, singing your song. And if you’re not an artist, you can support and share the work of people who are putting their work out there.  I can help you market your message, but it MUST be high quality content that will engage our culture.

Fourth, I intend to be as prepared as possible, first for the "All is Normal" scenario, next for "Survive-in-Place" scenario and a "Bug Out" scenario. I am an optimist, but I also know that with the way things are going in Washington, things could get worse before they get better. Please, take the simple steps that you can. Store some extra food and water around the house just in case there is a storm or a natural disaster. Have a go-bag ready. Make sure your family knows a meeting point where you can all regroup in an emergency. I’m not asking you to go crazy, I’m just asking for basic preparedness.  You've lost nothing by preparing compared to being at someone else's mercy if something does happen and you've not prepared.

Fifth, I intend to triple my business and double the revenue for all my existing clients.  The more money we all make together, the more we will control our own destiny.  Money certainly isn't the sole focus and it doesn't solve all the problems, but it does allow me to arrive at the solutions in style!  :)

Finally, in 2013 I want to be an example.  I intend to talk to my friends and family about the things that I believe and know to be true. I’m not telling you I'm going to dress up like George Washington and go to every single Tea Party rally in my area. I am telling you I'm going to try and engage people who may not agree with me in a cordial and civil way. I am telling you I'm going to be putting money away so that I can handle problems with family and friends in which I don’t want the government involved. I am telling you that I am doing everything possible to embrace personal responsibility. I am attempting to have honest conversations. As important as it is to ally with like-minded individuals, the biggest challenge I will face in 2013 is waking up the people who have been brainwashed by the progressives on television, in music, and in the classrooms.

If I don’t show my neighbors, and more importantly my children, a better path, then it’s going to be harder to turn things around.  I believe that we can put this country back on the right track, but it is not going to happen overnight, it's not going to happen in the coming year...but we have to be dedicated to turning this around over the next 10, 20 and 30 years.  We didn't get here overnight and we're not about to change the culture or restore sanity without hard work and dedication to that goal.
